My serger's back...and I finished that last cushion
My serger is back! I'm so happy! It was returned to me last week, but it started skipping stitches so I had to send it back. Turns out the needled bent right when I started using it and I didn't think to replace it because it was brand new. Lesson learned! Now I'm ready to get back to sewing and posting some tutorials. It's been a nice break, but I'm ready to tackle some projects!
And I was finally able to finish the last cushion. I repositioned the handle on this one per my son's request. He said he didn't want it to stick out so much like the girls' cushions. He's a picky one!

About Me
- Rachel
- Hello, I’m Rachel. I started sewing 9 months ago and fell in love with putting together unique clothes for my children to wear. Although I’ve focused mainly on clothes I’m trying to branch out into other crafts. This blog gives a peek into my current projects. Please feel to leave comments or email me questions or ideas at rachel@sewambitious.com. Thanks for visiting!

Hi Rachel, thanks for visiting and leaving such a great comment! For the dress I used simplicity 9784, view B. I cut the front about two inches shorter, and just curved the back panels up from the side seams. I made the ruffle about twice the length, and gathered it on. Hope this helps!
OH I like the colors, definitely a boys pillow! And your brave working with stripes, stripes scare me ha!
The handle looks good all flat too.
Nice!
